Dental sedation is widely used for varying needs. However, some demographics may need to seek other options when receiving their dental care.
Some circumstances that may require alternative or specialized attention include:
- Pregnant Women:Â Pregnant women can not receive IV sedation and are limited with the nitrous sedation they can use, as these sedatives can cause side effects during childbirth.
- Certain Medications: Certain medications simply don’t mix well with dental sedatives. Our dentists will go over your entire health history to make sure you won’t experience adverse effects.Â
- Pre-Existing Conditions:Â Certain respiratory or sleep apnea conditions are important to note before starting sedation. Let us know if you experience these conditions and we will work with you to determine a route that works best!
